The basics of backgammon are simple.

1. For the white team get your pieces anti-clockwise off the end of the board, and for the black get your pieces clockwise off the end of the board.
2. If you roll a double, you get twice as many moves as the double, so the highest roll is six and six which means 24 moves.
3. Try not to leave one piece on its own, otherwise your opponent will land on your piece and it will go back to the start.
4. Have fun and remember to set the pieces out properly.
